Privacy is so important and it seems more and more that online social platforms insist on us giving it up or in some way circumventing it to meet their needs. This is just the latest example in what is becoming an increasingly huge problem.<\/p>\n

Manage Social Advertising<\/h3>\n

LinkedIn recently added an option to include your name and photo into advertising. The option is enabled by default and somewhat out of the way in terms of turning it off, so here’s how to disable it.<\/p>\n

  1. Hover over your name in the upper right-hand corner and click ‘Settings’.<\/li>\n
  2. Click ‘Account’ on the bottom left-hand side.<\/li>\n
  3. Under ‘Privacy Controls’, click ‘Manage Social Advertising’.<\/li>\n
  4. Uncheck the box labeled \u201cLinkedIn may use my name, photo in social advertising\u201d and click ‘Save’.<\/li>\n
  5. You should receive a confirmation bar near the top.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
