In a recent press release<\/a>, BioWare confirmed that Mass Effect 3 will receive a DLC pack to quell the trilogy’s ending complaints. The DLC pack will be available Summer 2012 and will be free for all platforms (Xbox 360, Playstation3 and PC). \"ME3<\/p>\n

The specific details haven’t been leaked, but basic information about the DLC, labeled Extended Cut<\/strong><\/em>, was revealed. Taken from the announcement,<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough additional cinematic sequences and epilogue scenes, the Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut<\/em> will give fans seeking further clarity to the ending of Mass Effect 3 <\/em>deeper insights into how their personal journey concludes.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

That means the DLC will contain extended movie footage without gameplay. The Extended Cut is still considered a class move by BioWare to appease fans of the Mass Effect series, but will undoubtedly receive even more criticism for excluding gameplay from the DLC pack.<\/p>\n

This Extended Cut is intended to be the only Mass Effect 3 ending modification and serve as clarification to the series conclusion. Future DLC with gameplay is expected, but details have not been provided as to content or release date.<\/p>\n
