How many times have you emptied your wallet or purse of piles of receipts? They gather up faster than we realize and saving them is essential in some cases. So we throw them in a drawer, on a desk, in a folder or wherever to get them out of sight until we need them. That clutter is what OneReceipt is trying to help us rid ourselves of.<\/p>\n

OneReceipt is an online storage place for receipts. The free service uses industry standard encryption to save all receipts and stores them in the cloud. There are two ways OneReceipt can receive receipts from users. The first is through an iPhone app<\/a> which works by simply snapping a photo of a receipt and optionally adding a description to explain the expense. The iPhone app works in conjunction with email receipts as well, pulling them in automatically from Gmail and Yahoo mail.<\/p>\n

The benefits of OneReceipt go further than just tidying up your desk. OneReceipt is a nice way to track your spending habits and quickly recall past expenses. Some key features of OneReceipt include a monthly spending report, shipping and tracking status, categories and tags for advanced organization and an @OneReceipt email address which is used for emailing in receipts. For users without an iPhone, emailing in receipts is the only option at the moment.<\/p>\n

In addition, OneReceipt has managed to partner with Mint, American Express, CitiCards and Bank of America to automatically provide receipt data using the OneReceipt Chrome extension<\/a>. OneReceipt is currently in beta, so some things may change and improve as they grow. We would hope and expect to see apps for other devices beyond the iPhone as well as additional partnerships with other financial institutions.<\/p>\n
