@tony – Sounds like there’s some confusion. The rings are not near Geirmund’s Hall, neither is Talking Stone Camp. Though there are some giant quests which are bugged and can’t be completed so I’m not ruling that out in your situation.

EDIT: Looks as though some people are either being given unique locations based on their existing saves prior to Dawnguard or are having map mix-ups. The method described in this post is based on Dawnguard activation and acquisition immediately following your choice to become a vampire lord. I’ll monitor this post to see if others experience your problems and adjust accordingly.

During the quest “rings of bloodmagic” when I try to pick up the ring of the beast located in geirmund’s hall, the arrow for quest points below ground next to coffin.
