Pandora can really make time seem like it’s moving a little faster. The continuous tunes play in a browser tab while you’re hard at work doing other things, but there are some drawbacks. Things like ads and the ever annoying “Are you still listening?” message can bring your productivity to an abrupt halt.
If you’re a Chrome user then you have an option hide those ads and keep the music playing. PandoraEnhancer is a Chrome extension that enhances existing Pandora features and removes most ads. If you’re not a Pandora One subscriber then you may want all the enhancements you can get to make listening smoother and simpler.
PandoraEnhancer removes advertisements from the new HTML5 player and even prevents video ads from popping up when you skip a song. The “Are you still listening?” dialog is still present, but you’ll never see it. The extension acknowledges the message and takes care of it for you. Some other features of the extension include notifications for song changes, song lyrics with copy options, removal of ribbons, tooltips and promobox. As if that wasn’t enough there are customizable display options as well.
Initially, you may use the PandoraEnhancer extension for blocking ads, but you’ll find it’s capable of a lot more useful little tweaks.
