Players often want to play their games on multiple PCs. The best way to accomplish that is by transferring saved game data from one computer to another. In the case of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, its quite easy to do.
Note: This only works on the PC version.
Transfer Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Saved Games Between PCs
Make sure Reckoning is installed on both machines prior to transferring.
- On the 1st PC navigate to MyDocuments → Games → Reckoning. Note: Your “Games” folder may be named ‘MyGames’ or something similar.
- Copy the contents to a portable device (ie flash drive). Note: You’re mainly interested in the profile/saved games info. A profile will be shown as .profile with a number in front of it. The saved games will reference the profile number in a .sav file along with another number indicating which save number the file is.
Example: 12.profile is the profile, with 12save8.sav as the save file. The “8” references the number of game saves. - Paste the contents on the 2nd PC in the ‘Reckoning’ folder.
That’s it! Load Reckoning on the 2nd PC to ensure the transfer worked properly.

Glad to help! Hope you’re enjoying the game.
Hi, I followed the steps above to search for the saved games. All i got was a folder called Reckoning. Inside I only see a folder called Default and 2 files called personal and scalability. Can’t Seem to find a profile folder or save files for that matter.
Any Ideas?
Never mind my last comment. I forgot that Steam games have their saves in a different directory. Found Mine in Steam Appdata.
@Zimig – Glad you thought of that. After reading your first comment, I figured it had something to do with Steam. Loaded up both of your comments so that anyone else using Steam can follow along. Thanks for checking back in.
Thanks a lot
@SweNz You’re welcome!
I tried doing this however my old computer ran on vista and my new one has windows 7 and I can’t get the files to show up upon starting the game unfortunately 🙁 Any ideas?
@Greg – The files themselves should function the same way. Double-check the path to make sure the game is reading saved data from the directory where you’re pasting the copied game files.
Many thanks for this. I was running into the gates of mel senshir crash bug a lot. This helped me get past it. I’m about to try the save I transferred back. Here’s hoping 🙂
