PrintWhatYouLike is an in-browser webapp used to remove items like images, ads, social media buttons, menus or anything else found on a webpage that isn’t necessary when printing information. The webapp works by loading a user specified url into the browser alongside the PrintWhatYouLike sidebar.

PrintWhatYouLike’s sidebar is where users can manipulate the webpage and decide what’s worth printing. Clicking an area within the webpage highlights a section and activates a selection menu. Available menu choices include isolation of selected content, removal of the content, page width alteration, section resize, clip save (PrintWhatYouLike account required) or multiple content selection.

The sidebar provides even more options to customize the webpage to your liking or make it more readable. Text can be resized to decrease the amount of pages used for printing. Backgrounds, images and margins can all be hidden which further decreases the amount of potential paper used for printing. One especially nice aspect is the font change feature. PrintWhatYouLike can change the font style of the webpage. There are five fonts to choose from, including Vera Sans Ecofont, Verdana, Helvetica, Georgia and Times New Roman.

Extended features include a Chrome extension and bookmarklet which can be used on multiple browsers. Webmasters can also benefit from PrintWhatYouLike by utilizing the Website Button feature which provides a short snippet of code and print button for webpages or blogs.
