Doggcatcher is a fetching app used for retrieving podcasts and news feeds. Podcasts are now a mainstay, much like radio shows of years past. Podcasts can be created by just about anyone with a microphone and some time. Doggcatcher simplifies the retrieval process for those podcasts.

The app provides several ways for finding podcasts that you already follow or may interest you. Through search, RSS feed urls, recommendations, Doggcatcher Top Feeds and other means, Doggcatcher is able to offer users a large selection.
The interface is detailed, but easy to navigate. There are the usual playback buttons aligned along the bottom of the app with podcast information detailed in the main frame area. Selecting a feed brings all episodes into view with download and playback status and length and size data provided on screen. Additional details about the podcasts are provided to give specific information on particular episodes.
Doggcather is capable of fetching both audio and video podcasts and separates the feeds by tabs. If you move in and out of coverage areas or need to interrupt a WiFi connection suddenly, Doggcatcher pauses the download and saves the progress for future continuation. Obviously, with the podcast data downloaded, offline playback is supported which is a great feature for those times when data availability is at a minimum.
Some other advanced features of Doggcatcher include playlists, auto deletion of media after listening, queue management and battery saving options with regards to downloads.
Doggcatcher is definitely one of the best podcast apps on the Android market and if you’re looking for a way to condense your podcast and RSS feeds into one app, then it’s definitely worth a look. Doggcatcher is available for $4.99 in the Android Market.
