Ever heard of Paypal, Square or Dwolla? If not all three, then at least one of them is sure to ring a bell. They all process payments and collect funds. Each has their own way of handling that task and ultimately deliver funds to users in a convenient way. New to the seen is Kout.

Kout is very similar in that merchants or individual sellers provide something to a consumer and receive payment through the Kout system. Like Paypal, Kout deciphers between digital services and physical goods allowing merchants of all types to use the service.

The process continues with Kout providing a link to the product or service which is then used to purchase the item. The link can be fully integrated into a button on a website, email or wherever you can place the link. The portability means payment links can be accessed anywhere quickly.

Payment is made on the Kout website via credit card or Paypal. While that does seem almost like a second step in offering Paypal, it’s more a matter of choice for consumers.

Kout offers an easy to integrate link system for acquiring payments for merchants. There aren’t as many hoops and hurdles as a Paypal, though at the same time not as many options either. Kout’s really a clean and simple alternative that can let freelancers accept payments without setting up a complicated merchant account somewhere else.

Kout is currently in an invite only stage so not all details are available, but with the emergence of Square and rising of Dwolla, it could very well be the next platform to take a slice from the online payment pie. Those looking to start out with their online sales should take a look at Kout and see if it doesn’t provide all that they need to start out.
