Yarny
Ever get the urge to write or struck by inspiration while in the middle of something other than writing? It happens and what usually results is a loss in theory or idea and so they never get heard. Yarny might be the solution.
For bloggers, writers and news people, writing is something that happens almost constantly. Whether it be formal article crafting, casual note-taking or editing through rewrites and snippets, those who write always need a place to jot down ideas. Yarny is a writing platform designed with one thing in mind, writing. It’s in many ways like a word processor, though in the cloud.
Yarny users can add text and writings as long or short as they like with the ability to write in snippets. Snippets allow authors to create chunks of information and then add those chunks anywhere within the larger text. Through tags, Yarny enables users to search their pieces and find them quickly.
The interface is a pleasant one for writing. The background dims and the only truly visible piece displayed on screen is the white of the document. There are some additional interface features, such as the previous version slider which allows an author to revert to a previous save of the piece in question.
Yarny stores and saves everything in the cloud which makes it an ideal choice for anyone who routinely writes wherever and whenever possible. The cloud solution is free and Yarny offers a premium option which provides access through their iPhone app. We’d like to see an Android app in the future as well as free access through the mobile apps with Yarny Premium focused more on features than mobile access.
