Photoshop is an incredibly powerful tool for creating and editing images. It’s also a very expensive piece of software so you won’t find it on every computer you encounter. That’s where Splashup can help. Splashup is an online image creating and editing tool based on the robust Photoshop software.
While not a complete replacement for Photoshop, Splashup does an adequate job of offering the popular features associated with typical high priced photo editing software. Items like layers, opacity, shapes, cropping, gradients and others are included. Popular effects and filters are available as well, such as sharpen, contrast/brightness, colorize and more. One feature in particular that users may find handy is the ‘Capture From Webcam’ option which imports a snapshot from a webcam directly to Splashup.
The interface is setup similar to Photoshop with the tools aligned to the left with layers, color and info boxes set to the right. Users of Photoshop who need to create or edit images on the go, but don’t have their high priced software with them can use Splashup to get a quick task done. Although Splashup is based on a somewhat complex and thorough piece of software, it is not nearly as robust making it a suitable option for less detailed users as well.
