Extract Text From Images Through Free OCR Software

Free OCR

Optical character recognition (OCR) allows text to be deciphered from an image. OCR software allows that text to be converted to a document type format. Free OCR is a free web resource to save users time by converting text within an image.

The process is very straight forward. Upload an image (with text embedded of course), choose your language for conversion and complete the captcha to prove you are a real person. Once the Send file button is pressed, Free OCR begins the conversion process. Text is deciphered and converted to plain text which is then displayed in an on-screen text box for copy/paste.

The science behind a machine interpreting text within an image is not perfect so don’t expect 100% accuracy. Factors like blurry images, small fonts or problematic coloring can all contribute to lack of accuracy. Free OCR does perform automatic processing to images so there isn’t much need to optimize them before using the service.

Free OCR’s limitations include a 2MB file size limit and 5000 pixel maximum. If you have an image with a lot of text, then you may benefit from the Free OCR service rather than typing out the information yourself.

between tools till you have your solution solve.

    Thank you!
