A geek is a term to denote someone that has a strong devotion or obsession to a certain cause or hobby. A geek’s level of devotion to whatever he or she likes results in a bizarre level of knowledge, and may even hinge on fanaticism to that cause. Unfortunately, a geek’s devotion to their cause may also blind them to obvious facts or truths others may see. In fact, a geek may be sometimes synonymous with the term “hipster”.
The following graphic shows many different types of geeks out there today. Some you may already be extremely familiar with, such as the Apple Fanboy geek or the ever infamous Trekkie (Star Trek) geeks. Other types are not so obvious, and may even be considered mainstream or ok, such as the sports fan geek or crafts geek.
