UppSite

Would you like to go mobile, but aren’t sure how? Maybe the idea of developing an app yourself or hiring someone else to do it gives you the willies. If so, UppSite can give you the mobile presence you want at a great cost – Free.

UppSite creates a mobile view of your WordPress or vBulletin platformed blog/website by reading your site’s URL and converting it into a standardized mobile interface. Supported versions are WordPress 2.x and 3.x along with vBulletin versions 3.7.x, 3.8.x, 4.x and 4.0.x.

The setup is very simple with the only requirement being the website URL. After UppSite analyzes the URL, users are able to customize some of the features of the app. For example, upload of a company logo is one of the first options available. Users will need to choose a plan as well, with UppSite offering 3 to choose from.

UppSite works by gathering all the mobile data up front, then providing users with a plugin for their site. After which, visitors who view the website on a mobile device will be presented with the new mobile version of the website. The website is very easy to navigate and the menus are clear and concise, which is ideal since those likely to use the service aren’t familiar at all with mobile development.

Their Basic plan is free which is very limited, but does include the app analysis, conversion to mobile view, submission to app stores and some minor customizations. The Premium plan adds options like revenue sharing and push notification while the Deluxe offers full advertisement control. UppSite is a nice inexpensive option for bloggers looking to deliver a more presentable view for mobile visitors and our hope is that UppSite will expand beyond WordPress and vBulletin in the future.
